Operational network, SCADA and OT security engineers.
The OT & Critical Networks team of IP Global Services: engineers who have designed, checked, secured and commissioned operational networks for mainline and metro railways, utilities and energy. New to IPGS, not new to critical networks.
One team. Three disciplines.
Our deepest experience is on the railway: signalling data networks for resignalling and recontrol schemes, rail operating centres, metro CBTC, operational telecoms and traction power SCADA, all changed on live railways under safety cases and possessions. The same engineers have delivered power station and substation control networks, utility SCADA, and defence and service-provider networks.
Between us we have held responsible engineer, design authority and technical authority roles on UK rail programmes. The team includes chartered and IRSE-licensed signalling engineers, CISSP and ISA/IEC 62443 certified security specialists, and Cisco, Juniper, Nokia and Westermo certified network engineers. IEC 62443 is the method on every job.
Operational technology is a discipline of its own at IP Global Services, with its own engineers. The group behind it provides the supply chain, installation resource and offices in five countries, and its cybersecurity and telecoms practices can be brought in under the same contract: penetration testing, security monitoring, core, RAN and transport engineering, private cloud and managed services.
OT security
Risk assessment, secure architecture, separation of zones, remote access and supplier assurance, all to IEC 62443.
Operational telecoms
The IP networks that carry signalling, SCADA and voice between sites, wireless on site, and the systems that manage them.
Network engineering
Design, supply, installation and commissioning of trackside, substation and plant networks.
Rail systems
Signalling and control, traction power, control centres, stations and depots.
The roles on every engagement.
CVs and individual certifications are provided with proposals.
Practice lead and design authority
Owns the methodSets the IEC 62443 approach, signs off zone models and designs, and carries design authority through delivery.
OT security engineers
Assess and specifyAssess the estate, split it into zones with a target security level each, write the security requirements, assess suppliers against them, and prepare the NIS / CAF evidence.
Operational telecoms engineers
Design the transportDesign the resilient IP networks that carry signalling, SCADA and voice, fit them around the existing estate, and commission them with the services running.
Rail systems and build engineers
Deliver on siteDesign and check signalling data networks, manage cyber hazards in the project hazard record, and install and commission in possessions and outages.
Programmes by domain
Approximate count of programmes the team has delivered on, from engineers' CVs. A programme can appear in more than one domain.
Mainline, metro, SCADA and telecoms.
Certifications across the team include CISSP, CEng, IRSE licences, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamentals Specialist, CCNP and CCDP. Full CVs come with proposals.
ISO 27001. ISO 9001. ISO 45001. Cyber Essentials Plus.
Held by IP Global Services. Certificate scopes, insurance and supplier-assurance registrations are provided for tenders and onboarding. Individual engineer certifications are listed in proposals.
